International International Speaker
Roger Gueu’s public speaking career began in Rabat, Morocco, in 2019, following a series of discoveries he made in Agadir during the summer of that year on foreign-language acquisition among francophones.
His early addresses focused on a central proposition: that francophones could acquire foreign languages to a high level of fluency, including a native-like accent and deeper cultural understanding, without having to leave their home countries. Roger had first applied these principles to his own acquisition of English, an experience that would subsequently form the foundation of his work.
What began with speeches before audiences in Morocco gradually developed into an international body of work. Over the following years, Roger addressed and engaged professionals across Africa, Europe, South America and the United States, speaking on language, international communication and the ability of francophone professionals to operate confidently beyond linguistic and cultural borders.
Today, his speaking work is principally directed toward corporate audiences and francophone executives operating in international environments, particularly those whose professional advancement, leadership influence or access to global opportunities is constrained by English.
His addresses draw upon the principles first developed in Morocco in 2019 and their subsequent application to the demands of international professional life.

Engineer
A longstanding admirer of inventors and technology entrepreneurs such as Thomas Edison and Larry Ellison, Roger Gueu developed an early fascination with science, technology and the building of large enterprises.
Between 2016 and 2018, he undertook the rigorous MPSI/MP preparatory curriculum at ESTEM in Casablanca, an education he credits with giving him the mathematical and physical foundations necessary to understand the workings of the scientific and technological world.
He briefly attended INSEA in Rabat, where he took a few courses in business and economics before dropping out to pursue his technology ventures.
Roger is today the founder and CEO of Afotam, a technology platform conceived to transform the procurement of construction materials by enabling project owners to reach suppliers and source the materials they need in a few clicks.
His work stands at the intersection of engineering, technology and enterprise, guided by a longstanding conviction that scientific knowledge ultimately finds its highest expression in what it enables one to build.

Inventor
Roger Gueu’s work as an inventor is rooted in a simple conviction: what the world needs is not merely more people following established paths, but new thinkers capable of imagining different ones.
His first major field of experimentation was language acquisition. Drawing from discoveries he made in Morocco in 2019 and from his own experience acquiring English, Roger developed a new approach to foreign-language acquisition designed around the realities of francophone learners. The method sought to demonstrate that geography need not determine linguistic ability: a francophone could remain within the francophone world while developing international fluency, a native-like accent and a deeper understanding of another culture.
The work would later become particularly relevant to francophone professionals and executives whose expertise qualified them for international careers, but whose command of English remained a barrier between their abilities and the global opportunities available to them.
Roger subsequently turned the same inventive instinct toward technology. As a self-taught software engineer and founder of Afotam, he is applying software to one of West Africa’s most fundamental industries: construction.
Through Afotam, his work seeks to rethink how construction materials are discovered, sourced and delivered, creating technological infrastructure through which project owners can reach suppliers and obtain what they need with far greater simplicity.
Across language and technology, the principle remains the same: question what has long been accepted, identify what can work differently, and build the alternative.
